A Message Regarding Accurate Background Operations During COVID-19

Dear Valued Clients,

At Accurate, we care deeply about community – and the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our global community at large. I want to thank our extraordinary Accurate family – across Operations, Customer Support, Account Care, and more – who continue to execute tirelessly, despite this challenging environment. As we all continue to grapple with the ramifications of this escalating health crisis, I want to share an update on the steps we’re taking at Accurate when U.S. county courts close as a result of COVID-19.

Approximately 30% of courts require in-person or personal contact to search, confirm or otherwise research public record information. While we do not know how long courts could stay closed, we must consider the possibility that the closure period could be for a prolonged period.

As court closures happen, we will take the following action:

  • If a county criminal search falls in a jurisdiction that is closed or otherwise unavailable, the county criminal search will be closed out as the record information is unavailable.
  • The remaining (available and searchable) jurisdictions and components will be fulfilled as sources remain available.
  • Accurate will “tag” via notation or other internal measures those county criminal searches subject to this process, should you want to re-run a separate county criminal search when the court reopens. A nominal fee for the subsequent package to cover processing costs will be applied in this case.
  • The package will complete with the best available information at the time the package was run.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and support as our team navigates what is truly new ground for all of us, both at Accurate and worldwide. Please continue to stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Tim Dowd, President and COO
